Pick Your Own Fruit Farms
I can only remember going to a pick-your-own-fruit farm once when I was a kid, but I have very fond memories of it and have always wanted it to be something my kids have fond memories of also. Last year, I went here to find pick-your-own-fruit farms near us. This is a great site and easy to use. They have links to the farms that have their own websites. I stick to these farms because it's easier to be sure that they will actually be open and what kinds of things we can expect to find there. (I could just as easily call also, but I detest talking on the phone.) I'm thinking that this weekend we will check out Great County Farms. I was thinking we'd have to skip going to a farm this year because with the gas prices it would cost about $25 in gas for the round trip and that would end up being some really expensive fruit. I'm just not sure that the experience of picking fruit is worth it. But Great Country Farms has so much to do, that it helps to justify the cost.

sound like fun...we love togo apple picking in the fall. We stated the tradition two years ago and believe it or not both times I was 8 months pregnant! So it will be great this year to not have that belly to tote around...eventhough I will we will have a almost 2 year old and almost 1 year old. :)
Oh! apple picking! We picked peaches and apples 2 years ago when Caleb was not quite 2 and he had a great time! It was actually easier on us back than compared to this time (he's almost 4 now), because he wasn't strong enough to pull the fruit off the peach trees himself. :) We picked some apples too but they were mostly over ripe and disappointing. Maybe we went too late in the season for that particular variety.
