But the reason for this post is about his affectionate ways. Today, Caleb decided to give random hugs. He hugged the doctor at the appointment, the cashier at Franklin Covey and the 20-something girl in the elevator. He was polite with the first two, asking to hug first. But with the girl, he inched closer and closer and closer and hugged her. I explained that he was giving random hugs out today and she said it was okay cause she liked hugs. So, it was really cute. Every time he does things like this, I am so grateful that I have him. I'm so glad that he isn't violent with strangers (that's not to say he isn't with Daddy) and that he seems to be very aware of himself around smaller kids. He actually knocked a little kid over at the playground today and then helped him get up! It just makes me sigh with relief.

That is so *SWEET* of Caleb to be giving out hugs! Did he have a good birthday? Where did you go to eat breakfast?
I was feeling really bad about Caleb's birthday because we don't know any little kids around here and couldn't throw him a party. It's so sad. The friends I do have are single and childless. And it's been harder than I thought to find a playgroup. Regardless, it turned out to be a great day! He opened his presents in the morning. He loved the Aquadoodle! He brought it along for all the driving that we did. We went to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast. I had a bagel cause I just couldn't do doughnuts. And it was the best bagel ever! I was really surprised. Then we went to the mall and he got to play at the playground for a long time. (and I finished up my Xmas shopping) We were going to go to Chuck E Cheese, but Shane got stuck at work, so we'll go this weekend. And then we had an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins.
