Simplicity Pattern 2854
I posted the details of this project here at Mothers of Invention, but I'm posting the final picture here because I want to keep track of all the projects I finish for the year. Never mind the white line running down the buttons. It's just chalk, I need to wash it. I added some really cute flower buttons. You should be able to check them out if you click on the picture. You can see how it's pulling a bit across my upper chest. That's because my shoulders are too big for a size 10. But luckily, I can just unbutton the top two buttons and wear a tank top underneath. The last thing I did was sew the bottom hem. This was when I realized that even though the color of the thread looked like a perfect match, I should have chosen something darker. The thread is quite visible on the outside. This is a great lesson to learn, I'm glad I made the mistake early on.
Overall, I'm really happy with this top. I can't wait to see how it looks when I'm a normal size. Although, I'm really surprised it fits me so well 23 weeks pregnant. And I don't look very pregnant at all in this picture, but I think it's the angle and the dark blue color, because I'm growing out of a lot of my maternity pants, so I must be big.
Caleb and I are actually going to Gap Maternity today to find me some new jeans. I feel bad about spending ever more money on maternity clothes, but now is really not the time for me to look and feel frumpy. I gotta look good, so I can be happy :)

Oh my gosh, Marie! It looks great! I'm so proud of you! Are you happy with the length of the sleeves?
You look beautiful in your new blouse! I love the design and the color, plus you look so happy! I admire you sewing clothes, I am not to that point yet, I wish I was so I could make things to wear. I think you did an excellent job!
