I know you're all probably getting sick of me talking about how I'm not sleeping well at night. But, here it is 3:37 a.m. and I've been up for a little over an hour now. And there are only so many things I can do when I'm stuck in a hotel room. I liked Lawanda's post answering the question What is your earliest childhood memory? and thought it would be fun to find a meme that contained this question. So, here goes...
What is you earliest childhood memory?
I must have been about 5 years old when hurricane Iwa hit Hawaii. I remember that water started to come in the window of our apartment and we slept in the hallway that night. And then I remember later telling my grandma that we slept in the hallway and she said we were such chickens and she and my grandpa and just slept in their beds. My grandma was so funny :) I remember being so impressed that they didn't get scared.
Have you ever thought you knew the words to a song and then been shocked to find out what the lyrics really were? What was the song? Did you like your version better?
I'm famous for not paying attention to the lyrics of a song. But, I do specifically being surprised when someone told me that the Steve Miller Band song "Joker" was about s.e.x. (I'm trying to avoid weird people find my blog with a google search on "you know what"). How's that for not paying attention?
The boogeyman, global thermonuclear war, being forced to eat broccoli—there's a lot to be afraid of when you're a kid. What was your biggest childhood fear?
Being picked on and rejected by the other kids at school. Unfortunately, this happened a lot.
Have you ever ruined the ending or given away plot developments in a book, movie, or tv show by telling someone who hasn't seen or read it what happens? Has anyone ever done this to you?
I don't remember ruining a plot or ending for anyone, but I remember my mom ruining the ending of some movie. I was really mad at her! But, now I can't even remember the movie. Hmmm...guess it wasn't really a big deal. Sorry mom.
Almost everyone coins or uses expressions that make sense to only a few people. What word or phrase do you use most often that you have to explain the meaning of to others?
Got nothing for ya here.
Who (or what) is your favorite fictional robot?
I'm not really into robots, but I guess Rosy from the Jetsons was cool. Although she's a little too bosy for me to wish I had her as my robot.
Would you rather get up early or stay up late? Does your schedule fit your preference?
Get up early. Definitely. It fits with Caleb's schedule, which revolves around sunrise.
Do you consider yourself an optimist, a pessimist, or a realist?
I used to consider myself an optimist. (Shane is the pessimist, that's one of the reasons why we're perfect for each other.) But, I got away from that during our efforts to move to Cali. I hope I can get back to thinking positively when we get settled.
Valentine's Day: love it or hate it?
I don't hate anything. But, we ignore Valentine's Day. I think it's silly and uninspired. We usually celebrate our version of Valentine's Day on March 1st, which is the day I asked Shane if he wanted to go steady :) That has a lot more meaning to us.
If you won the lottery, what would you do with your newfound riches?
Shane and I would stick all the money into a bank account and not do anything with it for at least six months. We would take that time to carefully figure out what to do with it so it doesn't ruin us or our family.

Neat! I like the March 1 date. sniff, sniff.
That was very interesting, I learned a lot, thanks for sharing. I hope you don't get up like this every morning cause I know you need your sleep, but thank goodness for the world wide web to keep you entertained!
