Week 32 Belly...
Week 30 Belly...
We made it safe and sound to Monterey! I was a little nervous with flying so late in the pregnancy, but everything went well. Normally having to take three flights for what would otherwise be one 5-hour flight would be a real pain in the rear, but it worked well for us since I got a chance to walk around the airport about every 2.5 hours and Caleb got to experience 3 take-offs and landings. And amazingly, he actually slept about 15 minutes on two of the flights. He's never been one to sleep on planes, even when he was 4 months old and we took two 5-hour flights to get to Hawaii, on which he slept a total of 40 minutes. And yes, I'll never forget that, and I will be telling this story until I die.
I had my 32 week appointment yesterday and it turns out that I'll likely be giving birth in San Jose, which, if you've forgotten, is about 1.5 hours away from Monterey. The doctor said I could go to a hospital in Monterey because if I'm in active labor they wouldn't turn me away and Kaiser would still pay for it. However, it would be in my best interest to try to make it to San Jose to avoid having to go through the paperwork of getting Kaiser to pay for out-of-network hospital bill. I think this makes good sense and that is not something I want to deal with after Ana is born. So, we are going to try to make it to San Jose. I'm hoping they will take my long commute into consideration and give me the okay to go to the hospital when my contractions are fairly far apart.
I have lots else to talk about, but I'm so tired from these past few days. I'll write more in the next few days. But, I will say that the rental hunt is not going so well. The houses here are much smaller than we've been accustomed to on the east coast. But, we did have great luck finding a van. We got another Honda Odyssey, exactly the same as the one we sold to Shane's sister a year and a half ago. Funny huh? We only paid $600 more and I got them to throw in $200 all-weather mats for free. I was really proud of myself. And I love the van so much more than the other one since this one is mine. It's the coolest van ever!
Oh, here's a picture I took of Caleb a few days ago while waiting for the metro to DC. Sometimes I am so taken aback by how old he looks.

You look fabulous. I will believe it when I see you guys. I agree with Joanna you are here in Cali! Caleb looks at least 6.
