Today was my 34 week appointment. My mom came down for two days to help with today since I had two appointments – the routine appointment and also the ultrasound in San Jose. It really was so helpful to have her watch Caleb during the routine appointment. It’s so nice to have family around to help! Everything is going well. The doctor listened to her heart rate and said it sounded really good, going up and down. She said that they actually don’t like it when the heart rate is continuously the same. I mentioned that it seemed she wasn’t doing flips anymore. I’ve been feeling her feet in my left hip for about a week now and the head in my right ribs. But she felt around and said she was pretty sure the head was down.
Then we went to the ultrasound appointment. My mom and Caleb came in for the whole ultrasound, which thankfully didn’t take as long as the one I had at 20 weeks. It was so amazing to see Ana at this age. You can see that her cheeks are getting full! And it was incredible watching her movements! We saw her making a fist, sticking her tongue out, and “breathing”. The technician said it was really good that she was “breathing” the whole time because it’s a sign that she is healthy and getting stronger. It’s such a comfort to know that she is doing so well, in case she ends up coming early. Her estimated weight right now is 5 lb. 3 oz. The tech said that she can gain about ½ lb. every week, so she could be in the lower 8 lb range, which is likely seeing that Caleb was 7 lb. 11 oz. Oh! And look at her hair! She already has so much hair! She will be just like Caleb with all that hair! And it’s so great that we won’t have to cut it for a long time.
It turns out that I really had no idea how big Ana actually is. I was right about her feet being near my left hip, but the doctor was right about her head being down. Turns out that it’s her butt that I’ve been feeling in my right ribs. This makes sense, now that I know, because I can feel her hiccups on my right side. I’m sure it’s normal, but I’m a bit surprised that she’s already stopped flipping. But, maybe it’s because so much has been going on and it really hasn’t sunk in, just how far along she is. We only have less than 6 weeks left before her due date! We do have her crib up, her 0-3 month clothes ready to go and we found a bassinet with stand at Salvation Army today. But, we still need to get the car seat and diapers and other stuff that I’ve forgotten is needed for an infant.
This is the picture that you can see that her face is getting some baby fat.
This one is harder to see, her nose is at the top right and you can see her mouth open with her tongue sticking out. And that's her elbow on the bottom.
This one is so awesome! She already has hair! The arrow is pointing to it, it's the spiky stuff on the top center. She is going to have some really long hair considering she still has 6 weeks left!

Those pictures are AWESOME! I love the hair picture too! It seems like she really is getting big and it is wonderful to know she is on target! That is funny that she was stickingout her tongue, I would have loved to have seen that! Its is SO nice to have you back online, it was weird not seeing you here! We are so glad everything is working out and settling in for you! Can't wait to you Memorial day weekend!
I could see hair from Aaron's sonogram the day he was induced, but not before that! She must have some awesome hair!
