We were a bit surprised when they weighed her at the hospital about 24 hours after she was born and she had lost 0.5 pound (7 lb. 1 oz. down to 6 lb. 9 oz.). I know it's normal for infants to lose weight, but it's still a bit unsettling when it's your kid. We had to take her in for an appointment when she was 2 days old and thought for sure she would have gained some of the weight back. But, she hadn't. She was the same weight. The doctor assured us that the weight she lost was in the normal range and she should gain 0.5 to 1 ounce a day and be back to her birth weight in about 2 weeks.
So, today she is 9 days old and I took her in for another appointment. She weighed 7 lb. 7 oz.!! She gained 14 oz. in 7 days! And she also grew an inch!
Guess I don't need to worry about whether I'm feeding her enough :)

That is GREAT Marie! I am so happy things are going so well for you. How was it with both kids at the Dr.s office? You are doing a great job and I have been thinking of you and hoping you are getting rest and not too tired and stressed.
