She's very good about playing by herself. This was surprising to me since Caleb didn't play well by himself until a few months ago. It's very nice when we're out, I always make sure to have some of those ring links for her when she gets a little fussy.
She also rolled over for the first time! These are some "almost there" pictures because when the actual event occurred, she was so upset and screaming her head off and I just didn't have time to get the camera.
In addition to entertaining herself with toys, she self-soothes with her fingers. I know you've seen this picture before, but I just wanted you to see this awesome picture again :) I don't even care that it'll probably be tough to break her of this habit in a few years. It's so darn cute right now, I think it'll be worth the hassle.
She also laughed for the first time. She really likes to be sung to and one day I was singing Itsy Bitsy Spider and made the "spider" crawl over her face and she laughed! I had forgotten how adorable a babies laugh is! She also loves to be lifted up in the air.
When Caleb was about this age, Joanna was visiting with Ella and Sarah and she said that Caleb should be laughing by now. Oh really? But he hasn't laughed yet, I said. So she tickled his feet and he laughed! I still remember that so well because I was so amazed that she knew that.
In a way I feel bad for Caleb because I notice I'm much better with Ana since I'm experienced now. I didn't really try to sing to him when he was this age because I didn't know many songs and I felt silly when I did try to sing the ones I remembered. That's why it's good to have family and friends around that are experienced mothers. We can all learn so much from each other. I just wish more of my contact was in person rather than over the internet.
Anyway, don't want to end the post so drearily.
We started feeding Ana solids! hahahaha....

TOO CUTE!!!! I love all the pictures you posted!!! I am so glad Ana is a great baby and you are having a better time with things. I absolutley love the picture of her tasting food! I needed a good laugh!!! We cannot wait to see you all in about one week! Can't wait to see Ana roll over by herself!
Oh I totally know how you feel!! But I'm a slower learner than you. I don't think I was really comfortable with the babies until I had Rachel. Three kids into it and I'm just beginning to sing to them.
Anyway, GREAT update. That's awesome that she's rolling over. You know Anna still doesn't know how to roll over. She will turn herself over in her crib but if you lay her on her back on the floor she'll just lay there and scream until someone helps her out. She's almost crawling and can sit herself up but she can't roll over on demand. How weird is that. I think it's because she's so fat.
Oh and the finger sucking thing. Yes, it's hard to deal with when they're older, but I totally thought it was worth it for them to soothe themselves as babies. Ella is the only one that didn't suck on a finger, but she sucked on her blanket.
Okay, I'll stop writing a post here. I have to go start school with the kids anyway.
Love the pics!!!
