Hey ya'll! We're doing well and Shane's grandma is doing very very well! I can hardly believe that just a week ago, she was on the ventilator and her doctor suggested she might not make it. What a tough cookie!
I'll post some pictures later of the family. Can't do it now because we're not home yet and I can't load any pictures onto this computer. But, we've had a great time and I realized that one thing I really love about Shane's family is that they make me feel good about our kids. They think Caleb is smart, funny and well behaved. It makes Shane and I feel very good. They really make me want to have lots more kids :)
We've been staying with Shane's best friend from high school and his family (wife, daughter and son). His wife is a reading specialist at an elementary school and gave us a tour of her school today. It was really helpful and it has motivated me to start checking out the elementary schools in our area. That will really help when we're looking to buy a house next Spring/Summer. At least I know a little bit about what to look for.
Ana starting sitting up on her own!! But on a not so happy note, we're having some sleep issues (I know, shocking isn't it?) We gave up trying to get her to sleep in the pack-n-play. So, she's been sleeping on the bed with us, which worked out really well the first two nights. After that she has been waking up 5 to 6 times a night. And because I don't want her to wake everyone in the house I just feed her and she goes right back to sleep. The really terrible part is that this has been going on for a week now, so I'm afraid we've set a very unpleasant precedent. I'm hoping the swing we had to leave behind at home will remedy this.
If not, prepare yourselves from some seriously whiney blog posts.

I don't think it will hurt her to nurse off and on all night.. My kids did it, and it was like a phase and they stopped on their own, well before a year... :)
Caleb IS smart and funny and cute and, I am positive, very well-behaved!!! :D
