We live at the end of a street. It's not really a cul-de-sac. Well, it's not what I think of when I hear "cul-de-sac". It's more like an "end of a street" to me. There are apparently some hiking trails that lead to some Pebble Beach beaches. But, when I look at a map, it looks like you have to cross several streets. Several people have insisted that it's quite a nice walk though, so I'm looking forward to exploring.

I've never been really good with plants. I don't know what 85% of the plants in my new yard are. I'm hoping they survive the next few months. The odds are not in their favor. I haven't yet acquired a green thumb and they most of them aren't in the best shape to begin with.

Like this poor guy. Some kind of palm.

And this bush, which I think is a camellia. This one is doing particularly bad since it's next to the house and got pushed down when the house got tented (that's why it's leaning forward). And everyday there are more yellow leaves. I'm thinking that some of chemicals got in the dirt and it's now being poisoned to death. I propped it up with that stick leaning against the wall though and I'm hoping it recovers.

I like that plant on the right with the big leaves. Whatever it is.

And I like this one too with the purple flowers. Very pretty. Again, whatever is.

And these add a nice little splash of color.

Thankfully, my mom and aunt will be giving me some cuttings from their gardens. I'm so very happy about this since that means I won't be wasting money when I unintentionally kill them.
