Caleb's First Bike

Caleb has been begging us for a bike for quite some time now. But, it's really been too cold to even discuss and Shane really wanted to wait until we have moved. But, it's been getting warmer here (finally!) and we could see how deliriously happy he would be. So, we went and got him this fluorescent green bike last night. I didn't expect that tiny bikes would be so expensive and really hope that the little girl doesn't throw a fit when she ends up riding this green one and not some sparkly pink thing.

This morning I was checking my email and Caleb says "Mommy! I gotta show you something! Come here!" So, I follow him into his room and he points with both hands at his bike and says "Look! Look! Isn't it awesome?!!!" And I say "Yeah, it's awesome alright!" and he says "Yeah, it's the most awesome!" It was really funny. I wish you could have been there.

Anyway, we walked over to the "big playground" this morning, which has a significant paved area and is perfect for the little ones to ride bike. It was so nice to see him *so* happy.

He is growing up so fast. But what a lucky boy, and yes, the next one gets the hand me downs. Green is a great color, health, eco-friendly, etc.

We got Aaron a bike when he turned four and he did really well on it right away. Now that Ethan is turning four, he remembered that and was "expecting" a bike of his own. But he is not quite ready for a bike like Aaron was...he is going to be so frustrated. He thinks that tomorrow, when he turns four, he will have some magical power that will enable him to ride his bike! LOL! Won't he be in for a rude awakening?
